Have a story you want to tell, a favorite era you love, or a magical concept your family would adore bringing to life? Stylized sessions are all about making memories while creating art. Let’s dream up something fun together—reach out to start brainstorming your custom shoot!

When we get our traditional photographs taken, we are capturing a moment in time. When we do a stylized photo shoot, we are adding our creativity, collaboration, and we capture imagination. Regardless of our age, it can be fun to play make believe and dress up in costumes. For just an hour or two, we can step out of our normal routines and enter a creative world of our own making. As a custom concept photographer based in Lynnwood, WA, I help bring your imagination to life through creative family and individual portraits.

Whimsical Storytelling: Alice in Wonderland

The other day, I had the pleasure of photographing my granddaughter as Alice in Wonderland. She had so much fun because it was more than just a "smile for the camera" session. She had so many of her own great ideas as to what she could do to add to the shot list that I had planned. It was a lot of fun for both of us as we planned wardrobe, props, and locations.

Blonde girl in blue dress lies on grass with a black bow, holding a queen of hearts card over one eye, calm and whimsical.

Moody & Dramatic: 50s Film Noir

Another themed photoshoot I did was inspired by 50s noir. I love moody black and white photos and really wanted to do this one. I had one light and wanted to focus on lighting, mood, and mystery. My daughter was my model and we had a great time trying a ton of poses and outfits. We had fun props for this one. This shoot was more of a studio session so location wasn't a factor for us. I used a studio light as well.

What to Expect During a Stylized Session

These concept shoots are not just for children. Whether you're booking for kids, adults, or the whole family, everyone can have a great time doing these types of photographs.

  • I create a vision board once we have settled on a theme.

  • We will talk about the best location for your shoot and what props we may want to incorporate.

  • Then we get together for a relaxing photoshoot during which I will guide you through all the posing in the fun location we chose.
