Rewards

What are the rewards of being a photographer? Isn't it chaotic trying to coordinate schedules and people? What do you do when the kids are uncooperative because standing still and posing is unnatural for most children? What if you're on location and it rains?

Yes, the life of a photographer can be hectic at times, but the rewards far outweigh anything else. I get to go on location for shoots. I get to meet new people and form new friendships. I help people love photos of themselves. When I hand a client their photographs and they are moved to tears, that is the reward that makes everything worthwhile. Providing a service to clients in such a way as to provoke an emotional response is the best reward because I know I did my job well. Everyone should feel that powerful emotion when they see themselves through the eyes of others.
